Morning Bath - Were US unemployment figures fixed to favor Obama?

The drop from 8.1 to 7.8 percent was enough to rattle the cages of many GOP nominee Romney's right-wing supporters. Some seemed flabbergasted and came out with unsubstantiated claims that the numbers had been cooked to give Obama an edge. This kind of suggestion that a non-partisan organisation such as the Bureau of Labor would do such a thing seems like a clutching of straws and undignified.

Take Republican stalwart and former General Electruc CEO Jack Welch and his trigger happy Twitter fingers on Friday when he posted to his 1.3 million followers:

"Unbelievable jobs numbers, these Chicago guys will do anything ... can't debate so change numbers."
